How to play
Last One In is a quiz where everyone gets the same ten questions, each one harder than the last. Get one wrong and you are out. The last person still in wins.
A round
- There are ten questions. The first is a warm-up and the tenth is the hardest.
- Each question has four answers. Pick one before the clock runs out.
- The clock starts at 20 seconds on question one and adds 2 seconds per question, up to 38 seconds on question ten.
- A wrong answer, or no answer when the clock runs out, puts you out of the round.
- You get one pass per game. A pass keeps you in on a question you do not know, but adds time to your total, so it can cost you a tiebreak.
- After each question you see the right answer and a short explanation.
Who wins
- In a live game, the round ends as soon as only one player is left. That player wins.
- If more than one player gets all ten right, the fastest total answer time wins.
- If everyone still in goes out on the same question, nobody wins that round.
- In challenges and the daily challenge, the leaderboard ranks by questions survived, then by time.
Topics
General knowledge is the default. You can also pick UK or US general knowledge, sport, film and TV, music, history, geography, science and nature, food and drink or words and language, or type any topic you like, from a football club to a TV series.
Question styles
- Classic: a straight question with one right answer.
- Odd one out: four options. Pick the one that does not belong.
- What comes next: spot the pattern and pick what follows.
- Mixed: a different style on every question, so it is harder to settle in.
Ways to play
- Play with friends: start a live game for up to four people and share the link or room code. Everyone answers the same question at the same time and sees who drops out.
- Send a challenge: play ten questions now, then send the link. Anyone with it can play the same set later, and the challenge keeps its own leaderboard.
- Play solo: three computer players fill the seats. They are sharp early on and less reliable near the top. If you go out, you can skip to the end.
The daily challenge
Every day at midnight UK time there is a new set of ten questions, the same for everyone. You get one go. Your result goes on the public leaderboard, keeps your streak going and counts towards any league you have joined. Leagues rank your group by today's result and by total questions survived this week. Once the day is over, the questions and answers move to the past challenges archive.
Where the questions come from
One AI model writes a fresh set of ten for your topic and a second model checks every answer. If you think a question is wrong, tap Report this question after the answer is shown and we will check it.
